Legal Seperation

Postby Shirley » Mon Aug 21, 2017 12:58 pm

My husband and I have decided to take a "Take Out" in our relationship to try to resolve some of our personal issues and to see if we really wish to continue our relationship. We will be married 25 years this November. My husband is the formal "bread-winner" but I work occasionally in my own small business that is not producing an income for me at this time. We have two daughters and one is still in University (her 2nd year is about to begin. What obligations will my husband have to me financially during this informal split and should we decide to separate formally? He has worked for the TTC for 32 years and has a fully vested Pension.

I am about to turn 60 in January and my husband turned 54 in April.

We currently own a Condo with a hefty mortgage and maintenance fees due monthly.

My husband has moved out at this time.
